I’LL HELP… SO SUE ME.

What has the world turned us in to. (or is it just me?) Now I’m as respectful as the next guy. I open doors for ladies (if they want that), help old people cross the road and even excuse my self from tables, but where does the manners and being polite stop and the PC madness start?

The reason I ask this is because three days ago I was walking down the road in the icy patch we had. I wasn’t in my area, which seemed to avoid the snow, but a few miles away. Anyway as I was walking I saw a young girl maybe eight, on her own, playing on the pavement. As I was approaching, she slipped and fell on the ice, clothes soaked, hat off, not hurt that bad, but crying etc etc…

I rushed straight over and picked her up…

Actually I didn’t. That’s maybe what I would have done a couple years back…

But this time, I rushed straight over and… Stopped. And this is the madness I’m talking about. I was there to rush over and help a kid who fell… but I was scared to help… here was this kid on her own, who’d fallen over, and I was scared to put my hands on her to pick her up in case some parent came charging out of a house and asked me what I was doing to their crying kid, and sue me or some shit. That is the PC world gone mad that would make me feel like I can’t help any kid but my own.

Honestly, another 2 seconds and I was gonna pick her up. Luckily the mum rushed out the house and grabbed her… And actually did scowl at me as she grabbed her kid and rushed back in. I didn’t bother asking her why she left her daughter outside on her own, on an icy pavement, then went about my business.

But what the fuck is that? What is that? I was raised better than that. This world has gone mad. Kids fall over. You help them. No brainier. I felt bad. And if that happened again, I would help in one second flat, because I guess I would want someone to help mine. I’m almost willing some kid to fall over and… wait, never mind.

Anyway my point is. Fuck the PC “you can’t handle other peoples kids”. If you ever leave your kid out on his/her own on an icy pavement, and they fall over and I help them up (which I will) and you don’t like it… Sue me!

I’ll probably give you a slap for leaving you kid around all that danger, then at least you’ll have a reason.
